Classic Mexicano
No fixed schedule. After every round the standings decide the next one, so the closer the level, the closer the match.
What is a Classic Mexicano?
A Classic Mexicano has no schedule to draw upfront. The first round is a random draw, since there is nothing to rank yet, but every round after that is built from the live standings: players are sorted by total points, split into groups of four in rank order, and within each group the 1st and 3rd play against the 2nd and 4th. Win, and the next round is more likely to bring tougher opposition; have an off round, and the field evens back out.
That is the whole appeal of a Mexicano: matches get tighter as the tournament goes on instead of looser. There is no bracket and nobody is eliminated, players just keep getting paired closer to their current level, round after round, for as long as they keep playing.
Because it is drawn live, a Mexicano has no fixed length: the standings decide when it ends, or the players do. How it works

Players are ranked by points, grouped by four in rank order, and paired 1st and 3rd against 2nd and 4th within each group.

Stop whenever you like
There is no final round built in. Play as many rounds as the court time allows, then the leaderboard decides the winner.
Scoring and ranking
Scoring is points only, same as an Americano, but the standings that decide it are live: they update, and reshuffle the courts, after every single round.
Points per match
Matches are played to a fixed total, commonly 16, 24 or 32 points.
Ranking
Players are ranked by total points scored so far. This live ranking is exactly what decides the next courts.
Tiebreakers
Level totals are split by point difference, then by match wins.
Sit-outs
If the player count does not divide evenly into courts of 4, some players rest each round, rotated fairly.

This is a real sequence produced by the PadelEasy engine. There is no schedule to draw upfront: each round below is built from the previous one and its results.
Round 1 is random since there are no standings yet. From round 2 on, PadelEasy re-sorts the leaderboard and re-splits the courts after every round, so this exact sequence never plays out the same way twice.

How many players do you need for a Mexicano?
Four is the minimum, and there is no fixed group size beyond that. Players can be added or removed between rounds.
How does the pairing actually work?
Players are ranked by points and split into groups of four in rank order. Within each group, 1st and 3rd play against 2nd and 4th, so the top of the group always plays the top.
How many rounds does a Mexicano last?
As many as wanted. There is no built-in final round; players stop whenever court time runs out, and the standings at that point decide the winner.
How is the winner decided?
By total points scored across every round played. Point difference and match wins break ties.
What is the difference between Mexicano and Americano?
An Americano draws the whole schedule before play starts and rotates partners so everyone plays with everyone. A Mexicano draws nothing upfront; each round is built from the current standings instead.
